Overview

• 13-week contract in Dixon, Illinois
• 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week
• Department: MedSurg
• Unit size: 23 beds on the 4th floor and 14 beds on the 3rd floor
• Typical ratio: 1:5, up to 1:7

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license
• BLS
• 1 year of MedSurg experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• PALS

Unit Details

• Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, COPD, PNA, Sepsis, and AKI
• Telemetry is on the unit; MTs read strips and RNs sign off during the shift
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Charge nurse/house supervisor coverage is present
• PCT support ratio is 1:8
• RT equipment is home units only; heated high flow is the highest level available
• Floating may include ICU, ER, or BHC if the candidate has the appropriate level of experience; otherwise, no floating is required outside Med Surg
• No call requirement
• Every other weekend, typically
• Every other holiday, typically
• One shift of department-specific orientation

• Candidate must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels
