Role Summary
- Operates medical imaging equipment for diagnostic echocardiography and produces preliminary reports for Cardiologist review.

Required Qualifications
- Echo Technologist with 2 years of experience
- Echo Technologist experience within the last year
- RDCS or RCS or RCCS or ARDMS
- Demonstrates ability to understand and use color doppler, power doppler, spectral doppler, and M-mode
- Demonstrates ability to perform portable exams
- General understanding of Synapse Echocardiography computerized system and its function
- Demonstrates knowledge in maintaining/recording information regarding the GUS, cleaning/storage of TEE probe, testing of Resert, and test strips
- Knowledge of Peripheral IV placement if indicated for exam (i.e., Agitated saline study, Definity, and stress echo)
- Demonstrates knowledge of Synapse system for specific exam performed to complete a preliminary report to be interpreted by Cardiologist
- Demonstrates knowledge of Synapse & PACS system
Responsibilities
- Performs Echocardiogram, Limited Echocardiogram, Stress Echocardiogram, and Transesophageal Echocardiogram
- Uses echocardiography equipment and Doppler modalities
- Performs portable exams
- Sends images to Synapse and PACS
- Charges exams within EPIC
- Documents patient care services in electronic medical records
- Supports patient interaction, teamwork, and professional communication
Preferred / Additional Notes
- Knowledge of Synapse Echocardiography system
- Knowledge of PACS and Synapse workflow
- Knowledge of peripheral IV placement if indicated for the exam, when certification requirements have been met per policy
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
- The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract
- Travelers living within 50 miles of the facility receive a lower local rate
