Outpatient Chemotherapy/Infusion RN
Overview
- Contract role in Sidney, Montana
- Day shift, Monday through Friday
- 32 hours per week
- The role is based in the Infusion area of the Cancer Care department
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Montana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of infusion experience
- Infusion experience within the last year
- Hematology / Oncology experience
- Experience with Epic
- ONS/ONCC
Role Summary
- Provides oncology nursing care for patients receiving chemotherapy infusion
- Responsibilities include health history assessment, carrying out physician orders, in-office procedures, patient and family education, chemotherapy administration, cancer symptom management, patient monitoring, communication with patients and physicians, direct nursing care, and triage of patient care needs

Pros
Hospital staff is very friendly to travel staff, unit staff can be much more guarded. The physicians, NP, Pharmacists and Clinic staff are very knowledgeable. Communication between departments can be broken with infusion. Top notch equipment and supplies. Clean environment. Dietary always willing to accommodate the needs of the patients. Lab staff always helpful, pleasant and inviting.
Cons
High probability that Friday 1/2 day shift will not be supported by on-site clinician. Non-chemo patients not supported. Often times PCP not reachable. Flow of patients can be unpredictable at times. Potential for patients remaining in department after operating hours with minimal support staff.
