Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a 15-week contract focused on holiday coverage. This position requires experience in various clinical settings and a strong proficiency in managing a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), respiratory distress, Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), A-fib RVR, diabetes mellitus, and others.
- Administer blood products and utilize technologies such as BiPAP for patient support.
- Monitor and manage patients post-cardiac catheterization, including those with femoral arterial sheaths and TR bands.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and utilize wound vacuums as needed.
- Manage various intravenous drips, including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin.
- Evaluate patient responses and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
- Completion of at least one previous travel assignment preferred.
- Proficient in managing patients with central lines, chest tubes, and experience with Impella, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and art lines is preferred.
- Required certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) is an advantage.
Work Schedule
- Shift times: 1900-0730, 0700-1930
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend
Additional Information
- Floating may occur in Telemetry, Telemetry 2EW, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units.
- Dress code: Scrubs in any professional color.
- This role is based in a non-profit community setting with a total of 226 beds, including 11 ICU beds.
