Unit Description
The Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit features 37 beds and serves a diverse adult patient population. Each bed is equipped for monitoring patients with a range of conditions, from uncomplicated to sub-critical cases, including post-operative transplant patients and adults requiring cardiac monitoring.
Shift Details
- Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Weekdays and every other weekend required
- Available options: 36 hours or 48 hours per week
- Overtime available after 48 hours for 4x12 schedules
Orientation Schedule
Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Thursdays and Fridays. RNs will spend Thursday in the computer lab and Friday until lunch at the facility to obtain their badge and meet unit staff and management.
Patient Ratios
The unit maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar specialty
- New travelers are welcome (1st-time travelers accepted)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Floating Requirements
RNs may be floated within their scope of practice to meet facility needs.
Special Considerations
- Every other weekend commitment required
- Manager open to accommodating blocked schedule requests if aligned with unit needs
- Radius requirement: 100-mile limit for applicants
- Pendable license applications accepted (must submit with pending RN license)
