Unit Description

The Medical/Surgical unit offers 37 beds with a diverse adult patient population. Each bed is equipped for cardiac monitoring, catering to patients with varying degrees of illness, from uncomplicated cases to sub-critical conditions, including post-operative transplant patients and other adult patients requiring cardiac monitoring.

Shift Information

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Schedule: Weekdays, every other weekend, floating opportunities available
• Contract options: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Overtime: Available after 48 hours with 4x12 shifts

Orientation Schedule

Orientation takes place bi-weekly on Thursdays and Fridays. Orientation includes a full-day computer lab session on Thursday and a half-day on Friday, followed by visiting the facility for badge creation and meeting with unit staff and management.

Patient Ratios

1:5 patient care ratio.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of experience in the specialty area
• New travelers are welcome

Certifications

• Required: BLS, ACLS

Additional Requirements

• Floating may be required based on facility needs
• Weekend work is mandated every other weekend
• Blocked schedule requests will be considered if they fit unit needs
• Radius Requirement: 100 miles; specific exceptions for distances between 75-99 miles may require facility approval
• Pendind license submission accepted for WV/Compact RN license
