Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Certified Surgical First Assistant with cardiac experience to join our surgical team. This position is essential for ensuring efficient and effective surgical procedures, particularly in the operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac and thoracic surgeries, performing first assist duties.
• Proficiently handle vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting.
• Participate in 5-6 cardiac/thoracic cases per day.
• Fulfill on-call duties as required, including weeknight and weekend shifts.
• May be asked to float within surgical departments as needed.
• Opportunity to discuss blocked schedule options during the interview process.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a surgical first assistant role, with a strong focus on cardiac procedures.
• Required certifications: NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA. CRNFA certification is not required.
• Experience with robotic surgical systems is a significant advantage.
• Willingness to comply with the credentialing process, which may take up to 90 days.

Scheduling Details

• Shift options: 4x10-hour shifts (06:45 - 17:15) or 3x12-hour shifts (06:45 - 19:15).
• Guaranteed hours: 80 hours per two-week period.
• Holidays will require availability for on-call duties.

Additional Information

• Scrubs will be provided for this position.
• Cancellation policy: The organization may cancel up to one shift per two-week period without compensation for the cancelled hours.
• This role is open to first-time travelers who meet the experience requirements.
