Description
This is a float pool position. The candidate must be willing to float to multiple different units and have prior acute care hospital experience.
Position Information:
- Role: RN
- Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry – Intermediate Care
- Shift: Day shift, 0700 – 1930
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48
- Weekend Hours: Varies (Travelers will be scheduled for weekends based on unit needs)
- Call Requirements: None
- Years of Experience: 2 years of inpatient hospital experience preferred, Level 1 Trauma experience required; 1 year of travel experience required
- Float Requirements: Must float every shift
Education & Certifications Required:
- Certifications: Valid RN License (State of Maine), ACLS preferred, BLS required
- Education Modules: Assigned by the education department during onboarding
Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: Varies based on unit floated to (smallest unit has 15 beds, largest has 40+ beds)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 on days (possible 1:5 when stretched); 1:5 on nights (possible 1:6 when stretched)
- Equipment: Abbott Plum Pumps
- EMR: EPIC
Qualifications:
- Must Have Skills/Experience: 2 years of Level 1 Trauma acute hospital experience; ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Preferred Skillset/Experience: Minimum 1 year of travel assignments; 2 years of experience preferred
- Type of Patients on Unit: Varies based on unit
- Personality Fit: Flexibility is a must
Dress Code:
- Scrub Color: Any color, must be clean and professional
- Unacceptable Attire: Jeans, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, shoes with holes (e.g., Crocs)
Miscellaneous Information:
Having a minimum of 1 year of travel or prior float pool experience will contribute to the success of candidates, along with Level 1 Trauma experience in a facility with 500 beds or more.
