Job Overview

The Inpatient Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescriptions and monitoring patient drug therapy in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards. This role includes a variety of activities such as medication order dispensing, IV admixture, sterile compounding, monitoring patient medication therapies, counseling patients, documenting interventions, providing drug information, and supervising support personnel.

• Unit Type: Pharmacy
• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year inpatient experience required
• Certifications: Active Arizona state license and BLS Certification
• Shift Notes: 5x 8s (6AM - 2PM)

• Meditech Expanse EHR/BCMA
• Pyxis Enterprise System
• Pharmogistics™ carousel and perpetual inventory systems
• Pharmacy Keeper Remote Verification video check/documentation system
• Alaris Infusion System: LVP, Syringe, Epidural, PCA-ETCO2, and SPO2 monitoring modules
• Grifols USP 797/800 clean rooms in Inpatient and Cancer Center Infusion Satellite Pharmacy
• Swisslog™ Pneumatic Tube System

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience as an inpatient hospital pharmacist (night shift experience preferred)
• Required IV admixture and sterile compounding certificates

Working Conditions

• Will work alone during night shifts
• Night shift (7 on 7 off) preferred, with rotating shifts between 6AM and 10PM if not on night shift
• Every other weekend required

Unit Information

• Hospital census of 130-150 patients per day
• No floating to other units or departments

Dress Code

Business casual attire is required.

Training and Orientation

Training on computer systems and other relevant processes will take place for approximately 2 weeks prior to starting shifts.
