Description
School Psychologist
Georgetown, SC
Pay: $60-63/hr
The School Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students. This role focuses on assessment, consultation, and intervention to ensure every student has access to a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment.
Responsibilities:

Conduct psychoeducational assessments to identify students’ strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.

Interpret assessment results and collaborate with IEP teams to develop appropriate goals, accommodations, and interventions.

Provide individual and group counseling to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement evidence-based strategies that promote student success.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, eligibility determinations, and crisis response planning.

Support the implementation of positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and district policies.

Contribute to school-wide initiatives that foster mental health awareness, inclusion, and equity.

Provide crisis intervention and threat/risk assessments as needed.

Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices and emerging research in school psychology.
Qualifications:
-
Specialist-level or Doctoral degree (Ed.S., Ph.D., or Psy.D.) in School Psychology from an accredited program.

Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.

Demonstrated knowledge of assessment tools, data analysis, and special education processes.

Strong consultation, communication, and collaboration skills.
-
Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills:
-
Experience with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).

Familiarity with PBIS, RTI, and MTSS frameworks.
-
Training in trauma-informed practices or restorative approaches.
-
Proficiency in digital assessment and progress-monitoring systems.
