Job Title: General Education – Science Teacher
Job Type: Full-Time | School-Year Contract
Overview:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Science Teacher to inspire curiosity and discovery through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. The ideal candidate fosters a love for science by connecting classroom concepts to the natural world, encouraging students to question, experiment, and think critically about how science impacts their everyday lives.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons in biology, chemistry, physics, and/or earth science aligned with state and district standards
• Use labs, demonstrations, and experiments to bring scientific concepts to life and promote experiential learning
• Incorporate technology, real-world applications, and cross-curricular connections to deepen understanding
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse academic abilities and learning styles
• Assess student learning through a mix of formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student progress
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student growth and success
• Create a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, respect, and scientific inquiry
• Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field
• Valid state teaching certification in Science (or eligibility to obtain)
• Strong understanding of scientific concepts, safety protocols, and lab procedures
• Excellent classroom management, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to integrate technology and data-driven instruction effectively
• Experience working with students of varying academic levels and learning needs

IDR Job ID #476718. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 37 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
