Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary-aged students in a self-contained classroom setting. The ideal candidate is student-focused, organized, and experienced in delivering individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs.

This role plays a critical part in helping students with diverse learning needs achieve academic, social, and behavioral success in a supportive school environment.

Position Details

• Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

• Grade Level: Elementary

• Caseload: Self-contained classroom

• Start Date: ASAP

• End Date: June 6, 2026 (Will have opportunity to extend into new school year)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs

• Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance records

• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, support staff, and families

• Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior supports and evidence-based strategies

• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s degree preferred)

• Valid certification in Multi-Categorical Special Education

• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred

• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented school environment
