Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN for a hospital cardiac cath lab position in Illinois requiring an active IL RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and call coverage.

Responsibilities

Acute care hospital setting in a cardiac cath lab unit
Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts from 6:30 to 17:00, with a rotating day off
Call required: approximately 10 shifts per month, including evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
Required to float between affiliated hospitals as needed within scope
EPIC is used for charting and experience with EPIC is required
Navy blue scrubs provided
Participation in call rotation and floating to nearby affiliated hospitals are required
Must provide care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures
No more than 7 days of scheduled time off allowed per 13-week contract and no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
Permanent employees of the health system must wait one year before returning as a traveler
Travelers may remain for up to 18 months and must take a three-month break afterwards
Fit testing is required, and facial hair must allow for proper mask fit
Magnet-recognized hospital environment

Requirements

Active Illinois RN license required at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in a cardiac cath lab setting
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience with radial access and TR bands preferred
Sheath pulls experience required
EPIC charting experience required
Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
First time travelers are welcome to apply
No pending licenses accepted for Illinois roles
