Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring Epic experience and advanced cardiac device competency.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 14-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a large, Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital
- Provides care to post-cardiac surgery patients including those with ECMO, OHT, LVAD/RVAD, and Impella devices
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
- Night shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 1845 to 0715
- Weekend position with all weekends worked except Sundays
- Float to adult critical care units as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips/Edwards monitors
- Not accepting first-time travelers
- Orientation includes NEO and 3 days departmental training
- Strong unit culture focused on teamwork and proactive care
- Support staff includes a CNA, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, and 24/7 intensivist coverage
- Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays during assignment
- Scrub color is navy blue
- Free parking is available
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a comparable level Cardiovascular ICU (CTICU)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience managing high-acuity cardiac surgery patients with devices such as ECMO, Impella, and IABP
- Ability to present patient updates once per shift
