Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring Epic experience and advanced cardiac device competency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 14-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a large, Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital
• Provides care to post-cardiac surgery patients including those with ECMO, OHT, LVAD/RVAD, and Impella devices
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Night shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 1845 to 0715
• Weekend position with all weekends worked except Sundays
• Float to adult critical care units as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips/Edwards monitors
• Not accepting first-time travelers
• Orientation includes NEO and 3 days departmental training
• Strong unit culture focused on teamwork and proactive care
• Support staff includes a CNA, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, and 24/7 intensivist coverage
• Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays during assignment
• Scrub color is navy blue

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a comparable level Cardiovascular ICU (CTICU)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience managing high-acuity cardiac surgery patients with devices such as ECMO, Impella, and IABP
• Ability to present patient updates once per shift
