Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on a high-risk cardiology floor with 12-hour night shifts and IL RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting in a telemetry unit
• High-risk cardiology patient population, including management of cardiac drips, TAVR, post-CABG, and VATS patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., three shifts per week
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call required
• Floating required to all inpatient units at both hospital campuses as needed
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Responsibilities include bedside shift report and hourly rounding on all assigned patients
• Navy scrubs are required for this position
• Assignment is for 13 weeks with a maximum of 7 days of requested time off; no time off approved during the first week of orientation
• Magnet hospital environment with a total of 40 staffed beds on the unit
• Permanent former employees must wait 1 year before returning as travelers
• Must complete modules and fit testing as part of orientation
• Free parking is available

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience required
• Experience with cardiac drips, sheath pulls, and central line management required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
