Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring BLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN, and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Patient ratio is 1:1-2
• May be required to float to Postpartum, Couplet Care, or SCN feeder/grower assignments
• Uses Cerner for electronic charting
• Every other weekend shifts required
• Scrubs are provided
• May be assigned responsibilities across the perinatal continuum, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn couplet care
• Magnet certified environment
• First time travelers are accepted
• Highly preferred to have triage skills, proficiency in sterile vaginal exams, and Baby Friendly hospital experience
• May be floated to SCN for feeder/grower care
• Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
• Candidates who have previously worked for this health system must have a minimum 1-year break before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off per 13-week contract is highly preferred, with no time off in the first two weeks
• Orientation includes up to 12 hours of modules, completed pre-start and possibly during orientation

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience; 2 years may be considered
• Charge and Preceptor experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN
• Must hold or register for C-EFM through NCC during compliance phase or within first two weeks
• LDRP experience and ability to circulate for C-sections required
• Proven experience with Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, and Couplet Care
• Must provide two supervisor references
• Flu vaccine required
