Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an adult medical oncology position requiring telemetry experience and an active MD or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in an adult medical oncology and bone marrow transplant unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes oncology, bone marrow transplant, hematologic and solid tumor malignancies, and acute care
- Telemetry monitoring is performed on the unit
- Uses Alaris pumps and Epic EMR, with experience preferred
- Night shift schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Orientation is provided on selected dates
- Care for adult oncology, bone marrow transplant, and acute medical patients
- Chemo is administered on the unit, but agency RNs are not required to give it
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, with separate restrictions for Howard County General
- Strong candidates are preferred for consideration
- Units use a collaborative team environment
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- 2 years of recent nursing experience is required
- 1-2 prior travel assignments required
- Prior oncology nursing and telemetry experience required
- Experience in a hospital with at least 500 beds is required
- Chemo certification is preferred but not required
