Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics unit night shift, requiring a TX or compact license and prior travel nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a pediatric hospital unit with a 14-bed capacity
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
- Typical patient ratios are 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Patient population includes cardiac observation and post-surgical observation
- Uses Epic EMR system; experience preferred
- Hands-on skills include MS/Tele, remote monitoring, and IV starts
- Charcoal grey scrubs are required
- Role involves interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, heparin protocols, nasal cannula, and portable oxygen tank usage
- No local candidates or travel pairs/groups accepted
- Onsite orientation required with modules completed and recorded via transcripts
- No more than 3 days of requested time off will be approved, and none during the first week of orientation
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years pediatric RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Must be proficient in MS/Tele, remote monitoring, and starting IVs
- Candidates residing within specified counties or within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Former permanent staff must have a separation of at least 1 year before applying as a traveler
