Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics unit night shift, requiring a TX or compact license and prior travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric hospital unit with a 14-bed capacity
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
• Typical patient ratios are 1 nurse to 5 patients
• Patient population includes cardiac observation and post-surgical observation
• Uses Epic EMR system; experience preferred
• Hands-on skills include MS/Tele, remote monitoring, and IV starts
• Charcoal grey scrubs are required
• Role involves interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, heparin protocols, nasal cannula, and portable oxygen tank usage
• No local candidates or travel pairs/groups accepted
• Onsite orientation required with modules completed and recorded via transcripts
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be approved, and none during the first week of orientation

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years pediatric RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must be proficient in MS/Tele, remote monitoring, and starting IVs
• Candidates residing within specified counties or within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Former permanent staff must have a separation of at least 1 year before applying as a traveler
