Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active IA or compact RN license and prior Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 24-bed Med/Surg unit with a patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Patient population includes general Med/Surg cases and post-op orthopedic patients such as surgical hips and knees
• Uses remote telemetry tech unit monitoring and manages heparin drips
• Epic EMR is utilized on the unit
• Travelers may be required to float across multiple campuses
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy blue solid scrubs are required
• Holiday coverage is required for 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Only one day of requested time off is permitted during peak holiday periods
• Position may require floating to different campuses as needed
• Must provide a recent supervisory reference from within the last 2 years
• Returning travelers must not have been employed by the client within the past 12 months

Requirements

• Active Iowa or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
