Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position with couplet care responsibilities and night shifts in Connecticut, requiring AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring and at least 2 years of LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 78-bed general hospital providing Labor & Delivery, Couplet Care, Low Risk Antepartum, and Transition Nursery services
• Attend all deliveries and provide couplet care
• Night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Occasional float as helping hands (without patient assignment) to Medical/Surgical or Senior Behavioral Health units, typically rotating for 2-hour intervals
• Responsibilities include attending deliveries, providing couplet care, managing antepartum and transition nursery patients, and periodic support in other units as needed
• Must be willing to float as a helping hand to other units without accepting a patient assignment
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a reduced rate
• Completion of required training modules prior to assignment start is mandatory
• Returning employees may be subject to a review process to confirm eligibility for rehire

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
• NCC Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) nursing experience
• Preferred certifications: C-EFM and STABLE
• Two professional references or evaluations from the prior year in L&D or related specialty from a manager or above
