Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a STICU night shift position requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least one year of recent specialty experience.

Responsibilities

Work in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) within a hospital setting
Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
13-week contract assignment
Care for critically ill surgical and trauma patients
Role focuses on providing critical care to surgical and trauma patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
Must submit required credentials and documentation for consideration
Team setting with collaborative interdisciplinary support
Weekend and holiday coverage as assigned

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license required
Minimum of 1 year recent STICU or equivalent ICU experience
Current AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
U.S. Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Lots of other travelers, nice approachable management that are on the floor in scrubs to help not criticize, updated cerner launch point, staff helps other staff, security is able to protect staff, PD is at hospital

Cons

Charge is only available to help with traumas otherwise they sit at their desk, techs assign pts to ER rooms making very heavy patient loads with multiple traumas with other nurse assignments being very light, not enough policies to protect nurses from verbal and physical violence from patients
