Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg Admissions unit in a Level I trauma acute care setting, requiring 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care admissions unit specializing in medical/surgical patients
• 15-bed unit with private rooms for patients awaiting assignment to permanent units
• Level I trauma center environment
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1 during days and 6:1 at night
• Utilizes Epic EMR, Zebra phones for communication, Omnicell for medication, and Aleris IV pumps
• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floating to other medical/surgical units as needed
• Responsible for initial patient admissions and care until patient is transferred to assigned unit
• Navy blue scrubs required as dress code
• Unit is newly established and fast-paced with robust team support
• Includes 8 hours of orientation specific to the unit
• No call requirements
• Cannot accept travelers residing within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Reduced local pay rate applies for those living 60–80 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment
