Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night Emergency Department position requiring an IL RN license, Level 1 Trauma, and EPIC experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• Night shifts from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Two 13-hour call shifts required per 6-week schedule, with one-hour onsite response required
• Cares for Level 1 Trauma patients
• Uses EPIC for charting and documentation
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, developing and implementing care plans, and continuous evaluation
• Responsible for both patient and staff safety, and effective communication with colleagues, patients, and families
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate nursing documentation
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off permitted per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment for more than one year consecutively and must take a six-month break before returning
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
• Experience working in Level 1 Trauma Emergency Departments required
• Documented EPIC charting experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
