Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring travel experience, pain management proficiency, and a TX or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and pain management setting
• Shift consists of 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:00 to 18:30
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Assist anesthesia with epidural insertion and post-operative pain management of epidural or intrathecal
• Utilizes PCEA pump for patient-controlled epidural analgesia
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• Main responsibilities include post-anesthesia care, assisting with epidural procedures, and post-operative pain management
• Required to complete orientation modules onsite, with RN modules averaging 4-6 hours
• No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto-approved
• No RTO allowed during the first week of orientation or on holidays
• Travelers may not work in pairs or groups

Requirements

• Active TX RN or compact state license required
• Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience required; 5 years preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Certifications needed: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must be gone at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
