Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool position with required NICU and PICU expertise and night shift scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a float pool covering pediatric units including PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby
  • Hospital-based setting with varied patient populations from neonates to pediatric patients and postpartum mothers
  • Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • 36 or 48 hours per week available
  • Every other weekend required
  • Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
  • No block scheduling accommodated
  • Floating to various pediatric units per the hospital’s float policy
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Care for a diverse pediatric population across multiple specialty units as needed
  • Must adhere to all float pool and facility policies
  • Team-oriented environment with collaboration across pediatric and neonatal departments
  • Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract
  • Mandatory completion of orientation modules, up to 16 hours non-billable
  • Must have been separated from prior employment at this health system for 12 months to be eligible for return
  • No travel radius restrictions for this position
  • Locals are accepted for this assignment

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted, must be in hand before start date)
  • Current BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may submit if pending)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PICU experience required
  • NICU experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two professional references required at time of consideration
  • Nursys license verification required
