Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Telemetry unit position requiring MA RN licensure and strong telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 39-bed adult Medical/Telemetry inpatient unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults with multiple medical conditions and low-risk cardiac patients
• Day, evening, and night rotating shifts are required, including every other weekend
• Floating to other units is required
• RN to patient ratios are typically 4-5:1 with a PCA or 3:1 if working alone
• Tele strip interpretation and telemetry monitoring are essential components of the role
• Uses Epic for EMR charting, Epic experience preferred
• Must provide telemetry care to medical oncology and low-risk cardiac patients
• Must be able to rotate shifts as needed by the unit
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital are eligible but note rate adjustment applies
• Parking is not validated and may be subject to daily charges
• Documentation and primary source verification of licensure are required within 30 days of start
• Holiday coverage may be required per hospital policy

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required; no conditional or pending licenses accepted
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience preferred
• Ability to interpret tele strips and perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Knowledge of medication safety and administration practices
• Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions accepted
