Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least one year of perioperative experience, NJ or compact RN license, and current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Surgery department as an OR nurse
• Patient population includes neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 07:00–15:00
• Required to take call 1–2 times per week on weekdays (11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) and one weekend on-call every fifth weekend for 24-hour coverage each day
• Call response required within 30 minutes from home
• Pre/Post Op experience preferred
• Coordinate care with the surgical and anesthesia teams
• Direct and guide OR technicians and support staff
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-service education
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and regulations
• Maintain efficient patient flow and contribute to continuous, quality patient care
• Dress code/scrub requirements as per hospital policy
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or Red Cross
• Current PALS certification required within 30 days of hire
• Minimum one year of recent perioperative nursing experience
• CNOR certification preferred
• BSN preferred
• Must be able to take call as scheduled
