Job Description

American Traveler seeks a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital assignment, requiring Illinois PT license, BLS, and Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute care hospital setting
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:30PM, with 8-hour shifts
• Patient care is focused on acute therapy cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Requires experience in Level 1 Trauma environments
• EPIC is the required EMR for all documentation
• Responsibilities include safe patient transfers, development and adjustment of plans of care, and use of standardized outcome measures
• Education of patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers is an integral part of the role
• Expected to supervise PTAs and rehabilitation technicians according to regulations
• Requires compliance with all documentation standards and regulatory policies
• No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Approved time off should not exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Returning travelers must wait 6 months after one year of service before returning
• Professional dress code required; specific scrub requirements not listed
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment

Requirements

• Valid Illinois PT license required if applicable
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year recent physical therapy experience
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma settings and with Epic EMR is required
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required
• New graduates will be considered
