Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CT Technologist with ARRT (CT) certification and peripheral IV insertion skills for a busy hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based computerized tomography unit with both fixed and potential mobile units
• Serve adult patient populations in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
• Perform CT scans and may conduct general diagnostic radiology exams as needed
• Responsibilities include transporting patients to and from the ED
• Night shift schedule: likely Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with one weekend per month required
• No call required
• Requires flexibility for floating to nearby sister hospital as needed
• Uses PACS and Radiology Information System (RIS) for imaging and documentation
• Duties include explaining procedures, reviewing clinical requisitions, setting up and operating CT equipment, administering IV contrast with power injectors, and performing sterile procedures with radiologist support
• Consistently demonstrates principles of radiation safety and proper equipment handling
• Ensures completion of all imaging and documentation in PACS/RIS
• Occasional requirement to lift or move patients and equipment exceeding 10 lbs
• Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and potentially contagious patients
• Team members are expected to exhibit customer service excellence and embrace diversity
• Scrub attire required per hospital policy
• Online modules and lab work required onsite before start date
• RTO requests must be discussed with management after assignment begins

Requirements

• Current ARRT certification with advanced registry in CT (or registry-eligible)
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital
• Active MI license required for consideration if applicable
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Radiology required
• Peripheral IV insertion experience required or willingness to obtain training
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to fast-paced, team-oriented environments
• Must complete required online modules and pass prior to start
• COVID vaccine required
