Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool night shift position requiring at least one year of Med-Surg and StepDown experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a float pool covering Med/Surg and StepDown units within a hospital setting
• Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift with 12-hour shifts, working 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and rotating holiday shifts required
• 13-week contract with the option to extend
• Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, supporting physicians during exams and procedures, and ensuring comprehensive documentation
• Expected to engage with patients and their families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegation of appropriate tasks to support staff is required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Holiday and weekend coverage is required as part of the regular schedule

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program preferred
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year of Med-Surg and StepDown experience
• Ability to apply professional nursing theory, techniques, and evaluation in practice
• Good verbal and written communication skills
