Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool night shift position requiring at least one year of Med-Surg and StepDown experience and an active OK or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a float pool covering Med/Surg and StepDown units within a hospital setting
- Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift with 12-hour shifts, working 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend and rotating holiday shifts required
- 13-week contract with the option to extend
- Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, supporting physicians during exams and procedures, and ensuring comprehensive documentation
- Expected to engage with patients and their families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
- Delegation of appropriate tasks to support staff is required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- Holiday and weekend coverage is required as part of the regular schedule
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program preferred
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of Med-Surg and StepDown experience
- Ability to apply professional nursing theory, techniques, and evaluation in practice
- Good verbal and written communication skills
