Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN Manager with at least two years of clinical and leadership experience and a CO or compact RN license for a day shift leadership role in a general surgery unit.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital general surgery unit
• Operates in an OR setting managing day-to-day unit operations
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 4:00pm
• On-call responsibilities for administrative needs during nights and weekends
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Role involves supervising and managing the clinical nursing team in the surgical department
• Responsible for staff competency, orientation, evaluations, and annual training
• Oversees unit budget, staffing, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance
• Contributes to departmental and organizational strategic planning and upholds professional standards
• Function as a resource for collaborative decision-making and champion shared governance
• Will report to a Nurse Director with responsibilities covering both tactical and strategic objectives
• May be required to coordinate with accrediting bodies for ongoing compliance
• Professional attire or scrubs may be required in accordance with unit standards

Requirements

• Current RN license in Colorado or a compact state, with valid license in hand
• Valid BLS certification from AHA required, not expiring before start date
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required
• At least two years of clinical nursing experience and prior leadership or supervisory experience required
• At least one year of experience in OR nursing required
• Demonstrated communication skills, problem-solving, financial management, and mentorship abilities
• Must be able to complete the employer's required leadership training within one year
• Experience with resource management and maintaining patient safety standards
