Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong transplant surgery experience and advanced OR skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Operating Room specializing in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant cases
• Shift is 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, with on-call liver transplant responsibilities and rotating through other surgical cases
• One on-call shift per week and two 12-hour weekend on-call shifts per month required
• Floating within scope is required to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic EMR
• Ceil blue scrubs are required
• Responsibilities focus on assisting with and circulating for transplant surgeries, specifically organ implantation
• Time-sensitive training modules must be prioritized upon assignment confirmation
• First-time travelers are accepted
• All requested time off must be communicated during consideration; additional requests may not be approved
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• All travelers must be nicotine free with no exceptions
• Permanent and per diem nurses cannot return to this health system within one year of their previous end date

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license is required
• Minimum 2 years of direct liver or transplant OR RN experience required
• Must have experience in organ transplant implantation (not just harvesting)
• Proficiency with MISONIX/CUSA is required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (at time of consideration) and NIHSS (prior to start)
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Must pass EKG and Pharm tests during orientation with a maximum of two attempts
• Candidates must be nicotine free and able to pass a 10 Panel + Nicotine drug screen
