Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring at least 1 year of cardiac and neuro experience, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and a SC or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital Cardiovascular ICU
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7p-7a)
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Floating required to like units as needed, with agency staff floating first
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Royal blue scrubs required
• No on-call requirement
• Primary duties include caring for critically ill cardiovascular and neuro patients
• Pre-start online modules are required prior to orientation (non-billable, approximately 4 hours)
• All requested time off must be declared prior to offer; approval based on facility needs
• Holiday rotations and flexibility required during peak periods, including hurricane season
• Parking is provided at no cost
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license in hand prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year of recent cardiovascular ICU experience required; 2 years preferred
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Cardiac and neuro experience required
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• SSN and Driver’s License required for consideration
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation from the health system
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
