Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring a SC or compact RN license and strong critical care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of an acute care hospital
• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.), three shifts per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Typical patient ratio is 1:2
• Floating within scope and between similar units may be required, with agency travelers floating first
• Uses Epic EMR, experience preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Care for critically ill adult patients under standard 1:2 assignment
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
• Pre-start online module training required, averaging 4 hours
• No cost for onsite parking
• All requested time off must be disclosed during application for consideration
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of critical care/MICU experience required, 2 years preferred
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
• Applicants must live more than 60 miles from the facility, local travelers are not accepted
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation from MUSC system before being eligible
• First-time travelers are not accepted
