Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license and BCLS/NIH certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is within the Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
• Night shifts, working 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Staff-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Care involves telemetry, rhythm reading, and administration of cardiac medications and drips (no titration)
• Use of EPIC EMR is required
• Floating may be required within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• Six weekend shifts are required in each 6-week period
• No on-call responsibilities
• Duties include monitoring telemetry patients, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and administering cardiac medications and drips without titration
• Navy blue scrubs are required; no artificial nails or nail enhancements, and no Crocs with holes allowed
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Relevant modules must be completed prior to start
• Free parking is available on-site
• Candidates requiring fit testing must be clean-shaven as necessary for testing

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required for consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry RN experience required
• BCLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS and CPI are preferred
• Experience with telemetry and rhythm interpretation necessary
• EPIC charting experience required
• Applicants must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as travelers
