Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Step-Down Unit, requiring IN or compact licensure and recent IMCU or PCU experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Intermediate Care/Step-Down/Progressive Care Unit (IMCU/PCU)
- Day shift position, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- No call responsibilities
- Floating to other units required as needed
- Unit has 14 beds with a patient ratio of 3-4:1
- May care for step-down patients as well as MS/Tele overflow depending on census
- Uses Cerner EMR, Cerner experience preferred
- Primary responsibilities include caring for patients transitioning from ICU and managing PCU/step-down level needs
- Will provide care for medical-surgical telemetry overflow if IMCU census is low
- Requests for time off must be less than 1 week
- All certifications must remain valid for at least 30 days beyond the start date
- First time travelers will be considered
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and stroke certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent IMCU, ICU, or Progressive Care Unit experience required
- Ability to provide documentation of RN license and certifications for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days in the past year
- No previous permanent employment at a Community Health Systems facility within the last 2 years
- Scrub color requirement is navy blue
