Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Step-Down Unit, requiring IN or compact licensure and recent IMCU or PCU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Intermediate Care/Step-Down/Progressive Care Unit (IMCU/PCU)
• Day shift position, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• No call responsibilities
• Floating to other units required as needed
• Unit has 14 beds with a patient ratio of 3-4:1
• May care for step-down patients as well as MS/Tele overflow depending on census
• Uses Cerner EMR, Cerner experience preferred
• Primary responsibilities include caring for patients transitioning from ICU and managing PCU/step-down level needs
• Will provide care for medical-surgical telemetry overflow if IMCU census is low
• Requests for time off must be less than 1 week
• All certifications must remain valid for at least 30 days beyond the start date
• First time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and stroke certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent IMCU, ICU, or Progressive Care Unit experience required
• Ability to provide documentation of RN license and certifications for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days in the past year
• No previous permanent employment at a Community Health Systems facility within the last 2 years
• Scrub color requirement is navy blue
