Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring an active MD or compact state license and at least two years of neuro critical care experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) in a hospital setting
- Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-operative neurosurgical cases
- Rotating 12-hour shifts with both day and night coverage (7A/7P)
- Schedule includes 3 of 6 weekends and 2 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floats as needed to similar ICU/IMC areas
- Uses Epic EMR system with experience required
- Provide complex neurological care, especially for patients recovering from neurosurgical procedures
- Team specializes in interfacing between neurological and other vital organ systems
- Holiday coverage is required as needed
- Scrub color or dress code not specified
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except in select locations
Requirements
- Active RN license in Maryland or compact state
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent neuro critical care experience
- Experience in hospital settings with 500+ bed capacity required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Preferred qualifications include ACLS, critical care certification, and trauma course
