Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CT Technologist for a night shift position requiring WA state license and ARRT (CT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute care radiology department with one CT scanner, one X-ray room, and one portable X-ray
• Night shift schedule from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Tuesday through Thursday
• Graveyard shift is solo with responsibility for both CT and general X-ray coverage
• Average caseload is 2-6 CT scans and 1-4 X-rays per night
• Procedures include CT scans with and without contrast (head, spine, abdomen, pelvis, CTA PE, runoff, extremities) and general X-rays (chest, PICC line and tube placements, trauma fractures)
• Must be able to start IVs when necessary
• Department uses Epic for EMR and McKesson PACS
• Equipment includes Toshiba 64-slice CT scanner, Carestream X-ray room, and a new GE portable X-ray
• No call requirements
• Floating is required between CT and General X-ray as needed
• EPIC training is completed in Tacoma, followed by onsite orientation during the first week
• Must wear scrubs of your choosing
• Holiday shifts are worked if on the schedule
• No registered radiology assistants are used in the department
• Radiologist onsite Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; otherwise teleradiology coverage
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Department manager can assist with obtaining a radiation badge if absolutely needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience
• Active WA state license required; license required if applicable
• Certified CT Technologist with ARRT (CT) credentials
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Ability to work independently as sole graveyard staff between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM
• Experience with Epic EMR and McKesson PACS preferred
• Must provide or arrange to obtain a radiation badge
• Ability to start IVs independently
• Two recent references required: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, both with dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
