Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Float Pool position requiring Med-Surg and Stepdown background and every other weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Float Pool assignment in a hospital setting, caring for a variety of patient populations
• Med-Surg and Stepdown units with a mix of simple to complex cases
• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week on a 13-week contract with possible renewal
• Work every other weekend and on a rotating holiday schedule
• No local candidates permitted within a 50-mile radius
• Responsible for providing nursing care to assigned groups of patients and documenting interventions and outcomes
• Works collaboratively with physicians and assists with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
• Educates patients and families about care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Float assignments to different hospital units as needed

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year of experience in Med-Surg and Stepdown environments required
• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in general and cardiovascular nursing techniques and practices
• Basic computer skills required
