Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg surgical unit assignment requiring at least 2 years of recent hospital experience and a current NH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position based in a surgical Med/Surg unit with 27 beds
• Typical patient ratio is 5 to 6 patients per RN
• Day shift features a team of Charge RN, RNs, LNAs, and a unit coordinator
• Night shift consists of Charge RN, RNs, and LNAs
• Common procedures include orthopedic surgeries and bariatric procedures
• Specialized equipment used includes Hoyer lifts and CPM devices
• EMR: Code Cart (prior experience preferred)
• Shift is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Requires four weekend shifts per four-week schedule
• Float to Medical Oncology may be required
• Duties include post-surgical care for orthopedic and bariatric patients
• No color restrictions for scrubs
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted, must not expire within first 30 days)
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain a patient-focused approach
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
