Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Specialty Float Pool position requiring travel and step down experience with an active OK or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital float pool covering med/surg and step down units
- Care for post-operative patients, including those with ENT and/or transplant backgrounds
- Patient ratios are 5-6:1 for surgical patients and 3-4:1 for step down patients
- Manage patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, and feeding tubes
- Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, 3 days per week
- Provide nursing care for a variety of pre- and post-surgical patients
- Participate in patient and family education regarding procedures and care
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- No OR experience will be considered for this role
- No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
Requirements
- Active OK or compact RN license
- At least 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Travel nursing and step down experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
