Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Specialty Float Pool position requiring travel and step down experience with an active OK or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital float pool covering med/surg and step down units
• Care for post-operative patients, including those with ENT and/or transplant backgrounds
• Patient ratios are 5-6:1 for surgical patients and 3-4:1 for step down patients
• Manage patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, and feeding tubes
• Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, 3 days per week
• Provide nursing care for a variety of pre- and post-surgical patients
• Participate in patient and family education regarding procedures and care
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• No OR experience will be considered for this role
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license
• At least 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Travel nursing and step down experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
