Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring IL RN license, Epic experience, and Level 1 Trauma exposure.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes high acuity and trauma cases
• Epic EMR is utilized and prior experience is required
• Schedule consists of 12-hour MIDS shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM), three days per week
• Includes two 13-hour call shifts per 6-week period, with onsite arrival required within one hour during call
• All travelers must complete a two-week rotation on night shifts
• Primary responsibilities include patient assessment, developing and implementing care plans, and providing emergency interventions
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient documentation in Epic is required
• Works collaboratively with physicians, peers, and other healthcare team members to provide quality care
• Ensures patient and staff safety and adheres to department safety standards
• RTO (requested time off) is limited to 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not be on assignment for more than one year; a 6-month break is required before returning
• No travel partners are accepted for this assignment

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Minimum one year of recent ED nursing experience with Level 1 Trauma exposure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Associate's degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
• Documented Epic charting experience is required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
