Job Description

American Traveler seeks a Physical Therapist for a 13-week position with inpatient and outpatient responsibilities requiring a HI PT license and 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Position covers both inpatient (25%) and outpatient (75%) settings
• Care provided in acute, ICU, ER, SNF, Med/Surg, OB, and hospital-based outpatient clinic
• Full schedule includes a mix of inpatient and outpatient visits every 30-45 minutes, with one-hour evaluations
• Patient load ranges from 5 to 15 patients per day
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch; some Saturdays are mandatory
• Flexibility in work hours may be required
• Primary job duties include physical therapy evaluations and treatments for both acute and outpatient cases
• Significant involvement in discharge planning, patient mobility progression, and thorough patient care approaches
• Required to provide care in various units including ER, ICU, Med/Surg, SNF, OB, and outpatient PT clinic
• Mandatory participation in a 12-hour orientation covering HR, safety, quality management, and EMR training
• First two orientation days include facility policies, IT orientation, and EMR system training
• Candidates must be able to work Saturdays without exceptions

Requirements

• Current Hawaii Physical Therapist license required if applicable, or ability to obtain quickly
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
• Current BLS or BCLS certification required
• Experience treating a broad range of outpatient and inpatient conditions
• Ability to work independently in a rural healthcare setting
