Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool Med-Surg/Step-down position requiring an Oklahoma or compact state license and weekend/holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the hospital float pool covering Med-Surg and Step-down units
  • Assignment involves a variety of patient cases from simple to complex medical conditions
  • 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend
  • Schedule includes rotating holidays
  • Not open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius
  • Responsibilities include managing an assigned group of patients, administering medications and IVs, documenting care, and assisting with minor diagnostic procedures
  • Collaborate and communicate with physicians and support staff in patient care planning and discharge
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Scrub requirements were not specified

Requirements

  • Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact state (eNLC) required
  • Minimum of one year of recent nursing experience
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
