Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU night shift position in Illinois, requiring EPIC and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

Position is in a hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Provides care to neonatal patients in a Level 3 or higher trauma facility
Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
Uses EPIC EMR for charting and documentation
No local candidates accepted within 50 miles
Performs neonatal assessments, develops and implements care plans based on patient and family needs
Assists mothers with breastfeeding initiation and provides baby-friendly care
Monitors neonatal intake and output, administers medications using barcode scanning
Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and documents care accurately
Adheres to departmental competencies and ensures safety hazard reporting
No travel partners accepted for this position
Maximum 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract
Candidates may not continuously work more than one year at the facility; a 6-month break is required before returning

Requirements

Active Illinois RN license or temporary license in good standing
Minimum three years of relevant NICU nursing experience in a Level 3 or higher trauma facility
Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
Current BLS (AHA) and NRP (AHA) certifications required
Demonstrated EPIC charting experience and Level 1 Trauma experience required
