Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a MD or compact RN license, BLS, and at least two years of neuro critical care experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Neuro Critical Care Unit (Neuro ICU) within a hospital setting
- Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-operative neurosurgical cases
- Rotating 12-hour shifts, alternating between days and nights
- Three out of six weekends required per schedule
- Two on-call shifts per six-week schedule
- Floating required to ICUs or IMCs with similar skill sets
- Use of Epic EMR is required
- Provide specialized care to neurologically complex patients including those recovering from neurosurgical procedures
- Must be able to effectively interface between brain and other vital organ systems
- Team-oriented environment with orientation offered on the 2nd and 4th Monday each month
- Holiday coverage is required as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at same rate except for specific restrictions by facility/unit
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum two years of neuro critical care nursing experience
- Experience in a hospital with 500+ bed capacity required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
