Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position specializing in surgical, urology, and thoracic care, requiring a current MD or compact RN license and IMC/PCU experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an IMC level surgical unit covering urology and thoracic patient populations
- Care for adult inpatients including pre- and post-surgical cases
- Perform continuous vital sign and some advanced monitoring in an acute, telemetry, and intermediate care environment
- Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Requires floating to other areas of similar skill set within the unit as needed
- Uses Epic EMR with prior experience preferred
- Provide bedside care for adult surgical, urology, and thoracic patients in both pre- and post-operative phases
- May be required to float to multiple levels of care within the unit, including med/surg and intermediate care
- Centralized training and unit orientation provided on specified start dates
- Both local and travel candidates are eligible; local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required according to unit needs
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of current nursing experience in a comparable facility of 500 or more beds
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- IMC or PCU nursing experience required
- Dysrhythmia management skills required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
