Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and specialized perinatal certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
• Care provided to obstetric and perinatal patient populations with cases ranging from routine to complex
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• Assignment is for a 13-week contract
• Performs comprehensive nursing care including assessment, IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring of mother and fetus
• Provides patient and family education regarding care plans and hospital procedures
• Collaborates closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members during labor, delivery, and recovery
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Adheres to a 50-mile radius rule; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
• Holiday coverage may be required as needed

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Minimum of one year recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS (both AHA only), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP Advance Provider or NRP Instructor
• Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate nursing care in a high acuity environment
• Strong communication and documentation skills
