Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Skilled Nursing and Rehab position requiring an active IL RN license, BLS/ACLS, and IV certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in Skilled Nursing and Rehab units within a long-term care facility
• Patient assignments include up to 20 residents per nurse with an average daily census of 72
• Patient population includes rehab and dementia patients, providing both medical and post-surgical care
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (6:30-19:00) and every other weekend required
• Uses PowerChart EMR system; Epic experience may be needed for certain units
• No on-call responsibilities
• Local candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius
• Provide direct nursing care including IV medications and wound care for rehab and dementia patients
• Collaborate closely with CNAs and HCAs as part of a supportive care team
• Must wear scrubs in any shade of blue
• Free parking available onsite
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is only approved at time of offer, with a maximum of 7 days off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during initial orientation week
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum travel assignment length is 18 months with a required 3-month break afterward

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in LTC, SNF, Assisted Living, or Med-Surg
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• IV certification required before starting
• Dementia training or experience highly recommended
• Strong rehab, med-surg, or acute care experience helpful but not required
