Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position focused on scrub duties, requiring ACLS and BLS certifications and a compact or ND RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a cardiac cath lab within an acute care setting
- Level 2 trauma center environment
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 0700-1530 with on-call rotations
- Flexible shift options including 8- or 10-hour shifts as assigned by the team lead
- On-call required one weeknight per week and every third weekend (24-hour call), plus every other holiday
- Call response time is 20 minutes
- Three labs with an average of six cases per day
- Common procedures include emergent revascularizations, LHC, RHC, peripheral interventions, cardioversion, device placement, pericardiocentesis, and more
- Scrub role only; panning handled by a radiology tech
- Uses Epic for charting, with Philips Xper, Siemens C-Arm, IABP, Impella, Shockwave, Laser, IFR/FFR, IVUS, and Rotapro equipment
- One-week unit-specific orientation provided
- Work as part of a four-person team, performing scrub-only duties during invasive cardiac procedures
- Cardiologists are available 24/7 for support, with intensivist coverage in-house
- Scrubs are provided; dedicated work shoes are required and hospital-designated shoes are provided
- Lead protection will be provided if traveler does not have their own
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the last year
- All requested time off must be submitted upfront; no more than seven days off allowed during a 13-week contract
- Personal lock required for locker use
- Holiday, call, and weekend coverage is required as scheduled
Requirements
- Active ND or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of relevant cath lab experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience in scrub duties for cardiac cath lab procedures
- Familiarity with equipment such as IABP, Impella, Shockwave (preferred), Laser, IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro
- Ability to provide two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last three years
- Radiation badge required and must be in hand prior to start
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
